THE “BUSINESS LEGEND” SPEAKER SERIES
STARVING STUDENTS MOVERS &
SAN ANTONIO WINERY
INNOVATION IN TRADITIONAL INDUSTRIES
SCORE LA will hold its next “Business Legend” Speaker Series event on June 6, 2007, at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Speakers will be Bear Barnes, CEO of Starving Students, Inc. and Steve Riboli, Vice President of San Antonio Winery in Los Angeles.
Starving Students moving company was founded in 1973 by a college student to help him earn money for his education. Over the years, the company’s leadership has applied new technology and new management thinking to this traditional industry, helping Starving Students to become the nation’s leading local mover with 38 branches in 9 states and 250 trucks serving more than 60,000 families each year.
San Antonio Winery, founded in 1917, was faced with a nearly insurmountable challenge early on, with the advent of Prohibition in 1920. San Antonio Winery is the last of more than 100 producing wineries that were once located along the Los Angeles River. For 90 years, four generations of the Cambianica/Riboli family have applied hard work and innovation to build the San Antonio Winery and its Maddalena Restaurant to a Los Angeles wine and culinary institution.
